Brochure Text: Don’t Overdo It

Posted on 09. Sep, 2009 by Jeremy in Burning or Building, Writing & Marketing

A brochure is a handy item to pass out at conferences or other events; it can provide a nice summary of a product or service your company offers. But resist the urge to pack it too full of text, pictures, diagrams, and so forth (especially text).

People don’t generally read brochures cover to cover the way they read books—brochures are not pleasure reading (no matter how beautifully written yours is). Instead, readers want to get to the point quickly. Remember—a brochure cluttered with text will likely be tossed aside. Clutter diminishes the impact of everything so that nothing stands out, especially your message.
